Apple releases a bunch of firmware updates

Apple has released firmware updates for several Macintosh models, including MacBook Air, MacBook, MacBook Pro, and iMac, as well as a firmware update for aluminum keyboards. As usual, the release notes for all firmware updates cryptically state that they "fix several issues to improve the stability" without detailing the actual fixes. Apple has also released a firmware restoration CD to use in emergencies if a firmware update fails. read more

Take Screenshots In Firmware 2.0 Beta

Those of you working with the new 2.0 firmware beta might find this interesting. As some of you may remember, a while ago it was discovered how to take screenshots of the 1.1.4 firmware using a built-in key combination created by Apple, but this hasn't worked in the 2.0 firmware. Luckily a new combination has been found.

iPhone Firmware v1.1.2 Out, Already Jailbroken

Apple has started pushing out the v1.1.2 firmware to existing iPhone users. The obvious changes bring better support for international users in preparation for the European release in just a few hours. There is also an update to the radio firmware. This may also be targeted at international users, but it might also bring fixes.
