Madrid, Spain - LateNiteSoft has just announced an extension of their holiday sale of Sketches, the popular drawing app for the iPhone and iPod Touch. The application will be available for $1.99 / 1.59 Euro through Apple’s App Store until the end of the year. This represents a 60% discount over the regular price of $4.99.
“Sketches has been available in the App Store since its opening in July, and we’ve managed to gather valuable feedback from our customers all this time” says Jorge Llubiá, co-founder and COO. “Given that the App Store has now more than 10,000 applications to choose from, we’d like to make it easier for new users to find and try Sketches - we are convinced they’ll like what they see, and we’ll continue to learn a lot from the suggestions and ideas we receive.”
LateNiteSoft is committed to improving the product. As Jorge Llubiá told us recently, “We don’t believe in ephemeral hits. On the contrary, we want our iPhone apps to replicate the same ideals we try to follow in our Mac business line: frequent updates, high quality, attention to detail and dedicated customer support - that’s the only way our customers will find Sketches fun, useful and fresh for a long time”.
Sketches has already received several updates, and many new features have been added since launch. These include new drawing tools - such as text shapes or eraser, extensive sharing options or an intuitive, unobtrusive tip system. “Many of the most interesting ideas and suggestions from our customers have been built into Sketches 1.4. We are proud of the top-quality result we have achieved so far, but we are far from finished with it. We are now working on Sketches 1.5, and then our next milestone will be Sketches 2.0, a major new version that registered customers will be able to download for free through the App Store. Thus this is the perfect time to still gather some ideas, and at the same time celebrate the attention our app has received all this time”.
Among other distinctions, Sketches has received a 4.5 mouse rating from Macworld, as well as 5-star ratings from iPhoneAlley and 148apps. An Apple “Staff Favorite” in most countries, it is the #9 Entertainment application in the “Best of iTunes 2008″ selection posted by Apple in their various sites.
Pricing and Availability:
Sketches is available through Apple’s App Store for just $1.99 until December 31st, and for $4.99 thereafter.
