Skafia has made an awesome post on our forums about changing the carrier logo (upper left hand corner of the iPhone).
and some more instructions:
-----------------------------
** To change the logo, or change your ringtones, or anything in the
future, you have to "jailbreak" your iphone using the iphone hack found
here:
http://cre.ations.net/blog/post/custom-ringtones
--sounds-on-your-iphone-using-windows
Then, to change your carrier logo, just Plug in your iPhone (after it's
be "jailbreaked"), close iTunes and make sure you have 2 65x20 .png
files in your c:/phonedmg directory on your computer.
The first logo is the one you see on the homescreen, case sensitive:
FSO_CARRIER_ATT.png
The second logo is the one you see everywhere else in your apps:
Default_CARRIER_ATT.png
Make sure they are transparent so they look nice in the toolbars of
Safari and stuff.
Then you just run "iphoneinterface.exe" and once it connects, do the
following commands:
** EVERYTHING IS CASE SENSITIVE **
mkdir /System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app/
cd /System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app/
then type: putfile
/System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app/Default_CARRIER_ATT.png
then: putfile
/System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app/FSO_CARRIER_ATT.png
Turn your phone off, unplug it from your computer, then turn it back on.

Top Ten iPhone Apps
April 9th, 2008 — iPhone Hacks, Tips and Tricks
I have been asked, more than once, what my favorite apps are. So, I decided to give it some thought and create a list! I couldn’t get the list down to five…so, below are my top ten apps and why. I did not include BSDSubsystem, OpenSSH, Installer and Customize in the list…I figured they were obvious!! Let me know in the comments what your top five fav apps are!!
10. iBirthday. Stylish interface, useful and I love the little message it leaves at the top of the SpringBoard!
9. Sketches. Amazingly well put together! A classic app and a must have for any iPhone!
8. MxTube. I love being able to download videos to my iPhone without being connected to iTunes! Very convenient though, it does randomly have issues.
7. TimeCapsule. One of a kind app, user friendly and saves me A TON of time after a restore!! Plus I love the icon!
6. SpringDial. Easy to use and another time saver. All I have to do is tap the contact’s pic on my SpringBoard and voilà…I’m calling them. Perfect!
5. TTR. Guitar Hero on the iPhone…how can you go wrong!! Very well put together, customizable and totally addicting!!
4. Converter. Beautiful interface, tons of options and extremely useful.
3. Caterpillar. Adds a huge amount of features to my iPhone that are amazing!
2. XLaunch. Allows me to easily find apps but, the part I cant live without, is the ability to set an app as the Home Button double tap!! All I have to do it double tap my Home button to launch Installer!! I will have it no other way!
1. Capture. I use this app ALL THE TIME! It does exactly what it is supposed to do, every time! I like that it stays above pop-ups on the touch layers…meaning I can take screenshots of pop-ups with no problem. It is simple to use, convenient and reliable.
