Burolo, Italy - Mac applications publisher Hyperbolic Software has announced the release of Tidy Up! 2, the latest version of the company’s award-winning duplicate finder and disk tidying utility. For a limited time, the regular price of $39 (USD) is being reduced to $30.
Tidy Up! has become a must-have utility for Mac owners seeking to reclaim disk space being taken up by duplicate files and packages. Tidy Up! also offers the capability to scan the databases of popular Apple applications such as iPhoto, Aperture, iTunes and Mail. Tidy Up! makes use of “Smart Baskets” for quick and easy organization of found items, with the ability to trash, move or archive duplicates, as well as the option to export a list of found items as HTML or text files.
Version 2 of Tidy Up! introduces nearly 50 new features to this already comprehensive tool. Among the key improvements are:
* A new Basic Search mode with over 90 predefined search types
* EXIF information supported through new search criteria and Smart Basket criteria
* The ability to exclude any supported applications (iTunes, iPhoto, Aperture and Mail) from the search, allowing for identification of items not included in their databases
* Smart Basket capability to identify items belonging to a particular album, playlist or mailbox
* Moved and trashed items may now be replaced with an alias or symbolic link
* A new and improved interface, including additional information displayed when selecting a found item
* New user manual
Pricing and Availability:
Version 2 of Tidy Up! requires OSX 10.5 or greater; for machines running earlier versions of Tiger and Leopard, Tidy Up! versions 1.2.11 and 1.4.10 are still available. For a limited time, Tidy Up! 2 can be purchased for $30 instead of the regular $39; users of Tidy Up! version 1.x can upgrade for $20.

Braunschweig, Germany - locr has released “locr Uploader 1.0″, a free iPhoto plug-in which provides a comfortable way to upload photos directly from iPhoto to locr. The announcement of the iPhoto plug-in completes the second step of locr’s strategic commitment to offer geophoto community and printing services to the Apple market.
For those Mac users that use iPhoto and want to explore their travel photos in a different and exciting way, the locr plug-in is certainly the best choice. locr uploader 1.0 provides a convenient way to link iPhoto with the premier geotagging photo community locr. All services and features of locr could be combined with iPhoto from now on.
The plug-in simplifies uploading of photos or complete albums in a very straight forward way. All iPhoto descriptions, titles and keywords could be exported. Previously geotagged photos as well as manually added geotags within iPhoto 09 will be identified and transferred to locr. Different sets could be added right from the export window, e.g. the privacy level or the image size. After the successful upload of photos the plugin writes the URL of the image to the iPhoto descriptions for easy access to the locr website. Missing geotags could also easily be attached within locr.
The free plug-in was developed by Norbert M. Doerner, the author of the popular digital asset manager CDFinder, and can be downloaded from the locr website.
“This plug-in combines all elaborate features of iPhoto with the possibilities of geophoto sharing with locr”, constitutes Rolf Richter, CEO of locr. “This is another great success of our strategy to establish locr as the leading community for Geophotos and travel photo books in the Macintosh environment.” “Working with the iPhoto plug-in opens new horizons in the offline photo organization”, said Norbert M. Doerner, author of CDFinder. “Mac users can discover the exciting world of Web 2.0 with just a few clicks.”
About CDFinder

Apple … Apple … Apple … you all seriously need to have your heads examined. Every time we see those television commercials about the iPhone … how super cool it is – how many awesome things it does … well, to be honest, we just have to laugh of loud – because we know that’s only half the truth.
One of the great things about the iPhone is that …
if you want to look like an idiot – there is an app for that
if you want to be gross – there is an app for that
if you want to be a pervert – there is an app for that
if you want to be stupid – there is an app for that
Let’s take a look at a new KRAPPS that hit the App Store yesterday … the Nothing app, by NTP. No, we are not making this up … one of the great things about the iPhone is that it does nothing. No, we are not drunk … Apple really did approve an app about nothing. Still don’t believe us … read the app’s description below:

So the Nothing app is essentially a joke … the user touches the Nothing Button and a series of different “nothing messages” appear:
“absolutely nothing”
“nothing else matter”
“nothing compares to you”
“nothing ventured, nothing gained”
“made you look” (little dev humor here)

Ha! Ha! Ha! … yeah we get it. The whole Seinfeld thing … a show about nothing – an app about nothing … poking fun (like we do) at KRAPPS. Excellent work NTP. A subtle poke at Apple for approving endless KRAPPS. Still need proof to The Dumbing Of Apple – the Nothing app is available for sale in the App Store for 99 cents.
